SR9009 (stenabolic): mouse metabolic findings, no human efficacy trial

Compound: SR9009 / stenabolicEvidence base: Preclinical onlyUpdated: 2026-09-23Last reviewed: September 2026By: APEDRA editorial team

SR9009 is a synthetic REV-ERB research compound. Published metabolic observations in mice are not evidence of improved endurance, fat loss or safety in humans.

Key points

  • The central metabolism study was preclinical.
  • In-vitro metabolism work identifies transformation products, not clinical outcomes.
  • It is not an androgen receptor modulator despite appearing alongside SARMs online.

What the literature shows

Solt and colleagues investigated synthetic REV-ERB agonists in mice and reported changes in circadian behaviour and metabolic measures. Those experimental findings are insufficient to claim safe performance enhancement in people.

Geldof and colleagues examined SR9009 and SR9011 metabolism in vitro. Laboratory detection work cannot determine whether marketed preparations achieve a biological effect or carry acceptable risk in living humans.

What remains unknown

  • No published controlled human efficacy or safety trial establishes clinical outcomes.
  • Identity and exposure from products sold online remain uncertain.

Safety and monitoring implications

  • Do not confuse in-vitro human tissue experiments with human trials.
  • Unexpected symptoms after exposure require medical review rather than relying on untested claims of selectivity.

Community reports

Anecdotal — not scientific evidence

Lived experience is valuable context and often surfaces problems before the literature does. It is also uncontrolled, unverified and subject to bias, so it never overrides published findings here.

Editorial evidence status

Mixed

No independently verified community reports were available for this analysis. Anecdotes have not been invented or treated as clinical evidence.

Buying SR9009 / stenabolic in Australia: what to check first

APEDRA does not sell SR9009 / stenabolic or any other product, and takes no commission from suppliers. If you are researching where to buy it, the biggest practical risk is not the compound itself but what is actually in the bottle: under-dosing, substitution with a different compound, and contamination are all documented in independent testing of online research chemicals.

  • Ask for a batch-specific third-party lab report (HPLC/mass spectrometry), not a generic certificate.
  • Check independent review platforms, not only reviews hosted on the seller's own site.
  • Read the shipping, returns and refund policies before ordering.
  • Be wary of prices far below the market or exaggerated results claims.
